Posting updates lets me think the whole thing analytically, so I'm just using the forum as a sounding board anyway. 

Kinda like give me a camera, and I can go through any situation.

Well, you can surely see that I'm using the Kat Frend project reports like that, too.  As I've said, I'm doing actual sloppy field zoology, to do the main thrust of the project better, and writing it down helps me bring my thoughts that much closer to organized.  The feedback helps.  We're both pretty much like that, I'd say; we think too much to be really happy, but often manage to profit by going all Spock on problems at our best.

I can't help think about why when I spend so much time watching.  I want to understand this terrible universe, knowing being half the battle...

You kids in your early 40s are from after tape drives, aren't you?  I actually had one for years with my first computer...

(Yes, I know you're talking about a long-term backup device that probably doesn't look like the giant reel-to-reels of 50s/60s TV, not the pretty much plain tape recorder I had.)

And yet we also have a 3d printer.

but if there was an intestinal block, it's now cleared.  This was a good sign last time, so we'll see.   

He just aggressively chomped down about a dozen pellets.  Looks like crap, no color, way too skinny, but clearly feeling somewhat better.  Played dead for the frozen food though. 

So, another intestinal block, caused by stress.  means we can look forward to this again come fall. 

now we know bribing with live food at the start will just prolong the suffering instead of heading it off.
