Random crap with Uno.

Looks like they all do one of a couple 'themes' with the pumpkin mask: 

A hybrid 'living creature' type, usually deforming the natural head shape and enlarging the mouth. 
Ye olde jack o lantern on the head look. 

I want something in between the two somehow.  Think I'd first rotate the 'pumpkin' so the stem becomes the nose, and work from there.  I mostly got the nose and up worked out, just not sure yet how I want to work the mouth area.

Mine was a try at a jack-o-lantern on the head, but it came out bell-shaped.

It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult - now...

I wouldn't think a Jack Pumpkinhead look would be that bad - it's a little fluffy bunny, but only a little...

Had some interweb troubles lately. 

In-progress on my trial of making a pumpkin mask.  Your "looked like a helmet" comment made me think of just running with that idea somewhat.  Not entirely sold on the whole thing (as I wasn't before I even started), but not totally dismayed either.

I believe so.  I haven't actually clicked on the stories - it's just some stupid kids doing something sickening and unbelievably stupid.

Well - for the kids, for door-to-door and party purposes, a touch of mundane and not-that-scary is not a bad thing...

Yeah, my role in the yard is simply to keep the queue line running, not to scare anyone.  I'm not trying to go 'scary' with it.

You do a lot of nice stuff with organic harvest looks/themes, not all horror-oriented.  I'd say this is in that spirit.

The boss says we don't do "horror" at all, really.  Or, at least, not in the common modern interpretation of the world. 

Dark, atmospheric, sure, but not "horror". 

Or, as I look at it, we do 30's style horror. 

I set out to maskify this thing, or at least create something in the same 'family'. 



Think it's going about as good as reasonably possible.
