Speaking of, Cannibal in the Forest

An ANIMAL PLANET (wtf?) found footage horror movie supposing the fairly recent "hobbit" finds are somehow still alive (and eating people).  Mixes actual documentary, found footage horror, and local legends quite well. 

It's like a made for SciFi movie...only actually DECENT.

I didn't watch that one, but I remember the buzz on it at the time.  History Channel and their "documentaries".  I just wasn't expecting a down right straight up found footage horror movie (and above average for that subgenre) from Animal Planet.

Was going to come back and praise a series called the Lost Tapes I've caught on occasion, in sindication, where found footage format has people finding big foot or loch ness, etc.  Just now looked it up and see Animal Planet produced it as well.  Makes perfect sense those people have moved on to making movies.  The movie and series are smart enough NOT go give you this full CGI sequences of crapola, and keep the interactions to mostly sound and obscured shapes in the darkness.  Hollywood could learn a thing or three.

Do yourself a favor and dig up the Mermaid documentaries.   Really well-done, convincing, woo-woo nonsense.  You'll love it.

-Also, the lady 'scientist' heavily featured in the first is seriously good-looking, by my tastes.
