Speaking of God and Satan. 

Kyle got married. 

They asked me to officiate. 

The problem being at the time of their asking, Utah required one be an ordained minister to get a license to perform the ceremony....so I had to join a church....

Now there were many online "churches" available.  Pastafarian was tempting.  So was the good ole church of satan.  But if I was going to join a sham religion, it was going to be one I could at least feel good about, so I'm a Universal Life Church minister now.

Anyway, tiny wedding, in our stone circle.  Did a hand fasting ceremony.  My parents refused to attend both that and the reception, it's great.  Somehow his wife's family is possibly even more messed up than mine. 

This did put me on a registered list of officiates with the city, and I flagged willing to do lgbtwhatever.  I've had 2 couples reach out, but both were weekends I was unavailable.

Lessee - as your personal random thread, this one is about Halloween arting, family, both immediate and extended, work and the frustrating Dilbertness of, Uno himself, and Utah, weather and culture and those ugly big impressive mountains.

I wouldn't expect much developments on that last, but your friends here, I daresay, would like a high-level vague overview of what we've missed 23 to the present...

Oh, and an idea IRT edge-mowing.  I'll bet pretty much everyone has seen a spill with a bag of chemical fertilizer and noticed what it did to the spill spot for several years to follow.  You get a dead spot for as much as five years, with a zone of unusually healthy grass surrounding.  I ain't never tried it or know of anyone who did, but I imagine it would be cheaper and take less time to pour enough fertilizer along the edge of the walks every other year (where you don't want to plant something that will out-compete the grass) than to fuel a weed-eater and cut the darn edge grass several times a growing season.  Ought to be a feasible way to avoid the weed-eating and fertilize at least some of the grass you want, depending on what they charge for fertilizer these days and if it don't take so much the FBI notices...

Lets see:

Kyle married, moved out, etc.
Alec is now Alena and transitioning.
Talia got a wild hair, joined the wrestling team, kicked some ass, learned to lose and get back up, and deal with assholes.  Seriously good experience for her.  She's graduated and in a welding program at the tech school.   
I treat all the kids like adults which seems to shock people still, even though they're all grown. 
hEt still at the hospital but looking for change.
I'm no longer in my field of expertise, and they're threatening me with becoming a desk jockey people manager.  (yes, I see it as a threat)
Weird medical mumbo jumbo going on.  "There's a lack of study" on why.  Side effect of last drug was swollen tendons...enough to pop my shoulder out of socket.  Fun.  Hence the super slow progress on the stones. 

30 year anniversary in a couple weeks.

Naw, Church of Universal Light is pretty much a scam to sell ordinations, I always understood - didn't want to whiz on Uno's thing saying so, and I could have been misinformed and/or something's changed in 40 years...

Yeah, I realized that already.
I meant the city bureaucracy asking for a letter of good standing from a newly ordained 'priest', not the CUL requiring a letter of good standing from whomever before they allow UnO become a member of their club.
