[Keanu Reeves sound]

Yeah; right there, the viney walkway notion is fem-positive attractive, if labor-intensive to get going, and SO you, too.

I was imagining the pumpkin covered arbor as a monoculture, and thinking how great it would be, for food, for shade, for decoration.

That picture is beautiful beyond expectation!

The problem is that's a start of September pic.

Not that I'd be totally opposed to seeing what a end of October situation created, but it's likely not perdy.  Not that THAT is necessarily BAD.

Letsee.

back to 2014 would be the closest I'd come to such a thing.

IIRC this was a combo of sugar pumpkins and the Unokin variety I had been germinating for a few years.  (I still have a few seeds of the latter)

Late september, the sugars went to hell.  The LOOK isn't bad for the creepy season, but the vine's ability to support the fruit dwindles.  That would mean a lot of work tying up fruits.

Ol' Zebs vines end of October:

edit, for fun, a look at the beginnings of my rather serious allergic reaction from 2014 at the wrist there.  Covered both arms and started on the legs before we figured out what was causing it.

hEt's on board with the rebuilding of old patio + pithenge + Gourd tunnel concept.

Now it's down to the details.

Down the 'left'.

Couple sticky points this area creates:

The concrete pads to the left here are newer than the ones to the right.  They were poured when the neighbor extended the fence and parking pad.  Always one to eliminate stupid grass strips, I had them pour our side as well.  However, they slope towards the neighbors house fairly significantly.  Which is FINE...except it makes the stairs awkward. now that the walkway has to move around that cooler.

I think the solution is to pour concrete from the house, over to the edge of the bridge above, and change the stairs to a ramp (since widening the stairs is complicated by the slope of the second pad anyway, it also eliminates a tripping hazard I've always worried about).

The strip of grass to the left would be cumbersome to pour due to elevation change between our space and neighbor's yard.  A couple plantings of raven grass will hide all that, though.

I think instead of squaring this off, we'd want to angle it to give that tree a bit more room.  I also need to measure just how far out we'd want to go.  This was even with where the stairs end, and we wouldn't want much MORE than that.

Then Pithenge...

and I'd really prefer flagstone path from here around the other side.  Preferably set into concrete or something, certainly NOT with moss/grass free growing like some people do.

With gourd tunnel likely a future addition.

Oh, and an idea IRT edge-mowing.  I'll bet pretty much everyone has seen a spill with a bag of chemical fertilizer and noticed what it did to the spill spot for several years to follow.  You get a dead spot for as much as five years, with a zone of unusually healthy grass surrounding.  I ain't never tried it or know of anyone who did, but I imagine it would be cheaper and take less time to pour enough fertilizer along the edge of the walks every other year (where you don't want to plant something that will out-compete the grass) than to fuel a weed-eater and cut the darn edge grass several times a growing season.  Ought to be a feasible way to avoid the weed-eating and fertilize at least some of the grass you want, depending on what they charge for fertilizer these days and if it don't take so much the FBI notices...

...I always thought the fertilizer technique had enormous potential, too, for vandalizing yards and outdoor sports venues, but forget anyone ever mentioned that, and don't try it...

Yeah, that's not the full text either.  (even though it says it is, it also says they didn't finish the full text, if I understand the google translate properly)

I'd be willing to try that to clear remaining grass on the path where the gardens are.

Forget the props.  Focus on the sound effects and lighting.

NOT THAT EITHER ARE PARTICULARLY WELL PLACED OR DONE....

But these are new programable bulbs that let you customize this type of program via your phone.  This has potential.
