Supervisor A and I have had the frank discussion. 

I regret not taking his job when it was offered me since I didn't want it, but I'm doing it anyway so I may as well have been getting paid for it.
She regrets not firing when she had the opportunity, but she was new to her position at the same time. 

So, we have to wait for him to screw up bad enough to fire again. 

And he will.  We all see it coming. 

So I'm in the position of attempting to allow his incompetence show without letting everything totally fall to hell.
