She finally came home about 12:18.  No joy on the reset.  We hate to ask her brother for ANYthing for reasons too stupid to go into, but he's an experienced electrician, and she'll have him on the phone in about 15 minutes, when he's due home from church, and he'll know what to do...

Now I hear that the contractors, with Momma not home when they wrapped up and me not in evidence -nap- told Mylochka next door that there was something they couldn't do.  -So apparently, somebody's 'sposed to be by tomorrow - and I'm egging Momma on to be pestering Boss Duke's phone minions if we ain't got a couple guys outside working by ten.  No damn excuse for breaking our service on a Friday, only 3PM, and leaving it 'til Monday, at that - not like they'll do any make-good on the bill or anything.  I'll probably be missing a while tomorrow if they're even that much on the ball.

The help/advice has been much cherished; E_T, Uno, I thank you SO very much, because you have no idea how much your insights improved Momma's crappy day that would have been a lot more stressful for longer not knowing what you told me - she says she really appreciates it...

...I'll never know how many buttocks Boss Duke is bringing to fixing this inexcusable mess, because it's drizzly today, and of course nobody's doing crap that isn't a matter of life-or-death with the powerlines in the rain.  Momma dug out a hotplate, so I didn't have to make do without scrambled eggs for lunch.  -I did get cheated, Saturday night, of a nice hot bath, but it totally looks like I'm not getting a makeup bath tonight.  We can make do, frankly, for quite a while if we have to without everything but heating the house, and one hopes that won't come up again before September, and I imagine it'll be moot by then...

Figured out the blue fire ‘problem’ on the first try last night.

Ironically the blue is the correct color so you have to “break” things a bit.  But combustion is something of a specialty for me.

Consequently, we damn near had a spent motor for a fire pit but I decided it would look off with all the rock.

Just feel like pointing out a little piece of awesomeness in this pic. That first stone was Talia’s bday at the first of the month.  If it were her bday that shadow would be very near the center of the pit.  (Not dead center because of astronomical  reasons I can’t link to now. )

A white pickup pulled up around 4:30 and another set of Bossman Duke's incompetent minions have already some and gone.  They say they've determined the juice is making it up to the house, and they have to kick it up a level or two on the tech paygrade, 'cause they stumped.

Now I'ma curious.  I was sure it was a simple human error. 

Don't suppose you have a meter you want to poke places?

Now we've discovered hot water, but no sign of life returned in the stove/oven or the central air control panel.  Momma has not got a load of dishes ready, so no test of that right away, and I better not ride her about anything - she's grumpier than I am.  My namesake, Buster's Great Uncle, is coming tomorrow to poke around, and if he don't see a screw that needs a quarter turn to fix all, I suggested to Momma she get him on the phone to Bossman Duke and try to get somebody in maintenance on and set them straight about what to do, so they send the right guy with the right tools - he'll know in under half an hour what to tell them.

It's her house, and a very bad idea for me to touch a darn thing, really.  She ain't in a good mood.

Did they verify that the juice that is making it to the house are the correct phases??  They should be 120 degrees off from each other.  But if they are BOTH the same phase, then 2 phase things won't work...
