So, after a week:



They actually have the footing forms in as well, but I didn't get a pic. 

Pissed off hornets, broken window, hornets and glass spilling onto my son, power shut off on hottest day of the year, fridge not recovering from the power outage, secondary water inaccessible still, Talia making a valiant effort to save the flowers, and half the kitchen now packed away into boxes and my bedroom about to move. 

Quite the week.

What type of water proofing, if any, does the foundation in the photograph require?

Is the basement getting an extension with the rest, or are we talking about a second bit of foundation added outside and maybe some very narrow rooms?

Yes, the basement is coming out with the rest.  (might as well)  This is more or less "my" area of the extension.  Here's an older drawing, with the existing foundation and the new.  it creates a couple 9'4" wide rooms, including a small galley kitchen area where I'll do canning, and the kids will have foodstuffs for friends, my shop, and a large pantry for all my canning.

Makes every kind of sense for workshop space to be very important at Teh Lair of Teh Uno - I was just figuring a foundation kludge w/o removing the old would be cheaper and all, and it would be very like you to sacrifice in favor of the upstairs stuff for hEt...

It wasn't that much more expensive to go full bore and get the basement area.  We did look at just doing the main level, but most the basement section will remain unfinished, and thus it really don't cost. 

hEt sent me a pic of the pumper truck doing footings, but Kyle burned our data this month, so I can't upload it.  No promises tonight either....

Because they are cutting holes tomorrow.  That wasn't supposed to be for a while, so I'm not ready.  Got to move a bunch of stuff tonight, including setting up the cats upstairs and locking them out of the basement. 

I'll get secondary water back tomorrow as well.  Might even be soon enough to save some grass. 

And...my supervisor quit. 

Because why should only one area of my life be in chaos.

Doesn't need it.  I'm in the desert.  Well up the hill from the river.  Flooding will be from a busted line somewhere if it happens.

I can guess:

Some Christian (possibly other religion, but less likely) school clubs have been allowed to operate.  The Satanic Temple then says they'll start up their own, by damn.  (pun intended)  Christians get their panties in a twist over the very concept. 

The goal is actually to shut down the Christian clubs and demand separation of church and state, not start up a Satanic club.

Like I said, sounds like their general philosophy.
