More like the night before is for the immediate neighborhood, Halloween is for the random masses.  Fewer than 1000 people this year wouldn't be a BAD thing.

I'm continually looking forward to NEXT year this go-round. 

Looking into my book of all things uno, and I have 2 pages dedicated to this year, one on Trevor, one on lighting.  That's just sad. 

Last year, "nothing but some corn and pumpkins" has 10 pages.  Mostly Chimera designs.  (20+ designs, 3 made)

NEXT year has 38 and counting.  Im going to have to do some serious triage to figure out which I can actually make happen in one year, and a lot of it is mandatory tedium.  Depends on whether the kids help or not how much original stuff gets done.   

Another year of skull production might just be needed before I can accomplish some of the other concepts.

I've been thinking in the back of my mind for a while about making a full skull myself - when that idea reaches maturity and I do something about it, I'll mail you at least a mold.  I might do the research and make a neanderthal.

I'm in a holding pattern for a few days before I can start working, and it drives me nuts.  12 days left and nothing is finished yet.  Tick tock and all.  Even though in reality I could do it in 2 days, it's still nerve racking.     

I also have a real problem with the graveyard.  I really want this to be a 360 degree graveyard, but no such thing has ever been designed before.  Lighting for graveyards is designed to be a display, not a walkthrough.  Can't get a proper lighting scheme right in my head (which I tend to visualize real good).  I can pull a cheap display out of it, but really want a whole walk around Trevor. 

Probably pulling out the bridge for repairs this weekend, that will help, but I'm going to be stressed until I nail down the lighting.

I doubt I can visualize it well enough to give useful input even if you posted diagrams and pictures.  I doubt I know as much about lighting as you - I've been a tech a lot less, I think, though the broadcasting college study fills in a lot, there.

Find a small project, or several, you can work on while you wait - doesn't even have to be related, or anything for this year.  Cleaning the creative pipes is good.  Do some easy stuff for fun.

...Come to think of it, though, a real graveyard is going to probably be lit by a single source off to one side - the moon, or a streetlight, depending on how diffuse the lighting you prefer.  Cast a lot of long shadows...

And all the stones face a single direction.  That's my problem, I want a path down the center with stones facing towards the middle.

Only with tombstones.  (^that was the last time I even approached a graveyard, kids built that one alone)

This would leave Trevor's side lit more normally, thus drawing easier focus to it as well, it also brings the audience into the scene casting the shadows right over the path.  In theory.  This is just not a typical design at all, but has always fascinated me.
