Still playing around with how to do this...  I b'lieve the stamp I made is too small...

Oh, I wasn't playing with the watermark.  First have to have a means to upload pics again. 

Many of the plugins wouldn't let me hotlink, and those that did had some dangerous code to be throwing out into the web when people are attacking my site. 

Then I found one that let you backdoor into picasa straight from your site control panel.  I dug into it's code to see how it was doing that, and was able to access my old picasa again.  From the picasa side, I was able to get rid of the google+ idiocy.  Sure, it was just a settings change, but it was auto-redirecting all my attempts to get to the settings page without this rigamarole. 

So, for now, I've got picasa working again, at least temporarily until the next update, so I have a little time to poke around. 


On the album programs that allowed automagical watermarks, they auto-pasted an image to a particular area on the pics.  More likely auto-superimposed.  Didn't look at that coding. 

The idea for me being, to have my website on all the pics, that way I get something out of hosting them on my site.  But, still playing around with how that all works.  Don't want to have the directory deep down into the website, just anunorthodoxhalloween.com/gallerynam/picname.jpeg or somesuch.

I got Photoshop running.  I think there's a fairly simple way to do it without registering with Digimarc.  More to come.

So, a little compare/contrast.

Roughly even in height, the corn is a little thicker, and certainly has more foliage. 

Since my macro lens is a kit job, playing around with it at the school fair.  Tali and Alec on the rock wall.





Thing was a bit cumbersome to get around, actually.  Too spoiled by my primes I guess. 




I knew from the get-go that pumpkin prices were going to be interesting this year.  Flooding in the prime growing locations locally delayed planting early in the year followed by the hottest summer and one of the worst drought years was bound to have an impact.  (no, flooding and drought are not unusual together here in Utah)

As usual WalMart was first out of the gates, and has set the bar at $5 ea (ok, $4.88) on standard jack sized pumpkins.  $.50/lb on specialty pumpkins, and $.75 ea on the minies/gourds. 

This is up from a high of $3.50 at walmart on jack pumpkins last year.

Kinda scary what that might do to prices at the stands.  Still plan to be "some jerk selling them for $1".

I thinks I done solved the problem.  This is simple, if your version of Photoshop has a 'Place...' command in the File menu.

Here are half the semitransparent watermark files I created.  The ones with backgrounds are set at a transparency of 20% - the backgroundless at 35%.  You can adjust that level in the Layers window.

Here's the trick to adding to pics: File>Place...>select stamp (this creates a new layer)>move stamp where you want on the pic>Layer>Flatten Image>Save.

Let me know how this works out.
