Beta testers wanted for version 2.0 of my patch
« on: May 20, 2013, 05:09:26 pm »
In the process of changing my patch to be usable with older maps, I had to change a lot...I tried to avoid introducing bugs, and fix the ones that I introduced anyway, but I may have missed some, so I'd like beta testers to help find any new ones.  Basically, this means playing with the patch (which is currently in the downloads section awaiting approval) and noting any bugs that aren't present in Kyrub's patch.

However, there's a slight complication: Because of some of the changes I made, older versions of the executable will not work properly with the new alphax.txt file, and it'd be a hassle to switch back and forth.  Therefore, I'm attaching here:
1. The file terranxKYR.exe; this is exactly like Kyrub's patch, except that instead of using alphax.txt, it uses alphaxb.txt.
2. The file alphaxb.txt; this is simply a renamed version of the original alphax.txt file.

Saved games from one are compatible with the other (making it easy to test a bug from one in the other), but will treat certain ecodamage information (namely facilities built to raise clean minerals, and atrocities/missiles) improperly.

To all beta testers: Thank you very much.

Although Planet's native life is based, like Earth's, on right-handed DNA, and codes for all the same amino acids, the inevitable chemical and structural differences from a billion years of evolution in an alien environment render the native plant life highly poisonous to humans. Juicy, ripe grenade fruits may look appealing, but a mouthful of organonitrates will certainly change your mind in a hurry.
