When to see one of the most beautiful meteor showers of the year

A beautiful meteor shower with “excellent” viewing conditions is expected this week.

Other meteor showers this month, such as the Draconids, which peaked on Oct. 8, had very poor viewing conditions, according to Star Walk.

But the best time to see a meteor shower in October will be around midnight on Oct. 21 when Orionids’ peaks. It is known for its fast meteors, bright fireballs and is among the most beautiful meteor showers of the year, according to Star Walk.

“... observers may even witness small outbursts of activity on the nights around the peak,” the website states.

Finally, on Oct. 24, sky watchers can see Leonis Minorids’ peak. Under a dark sky, people might be able to see it with a naked eye.
