To accomplish his goal, Zakharov woke significantly more than his allotted share of crew, undercutting general damage control efforts.

Despite absorbing life-altering doses of radiation, Zakharov's engineering teams had nearly succeeded in bringing Unity's reactor farm back into safe tolerances when they were decimated not once, but twice--first by the Spartans, then by the Kellerites. Driven nearly to madness by the calamity, Zakharov accused his captain of incompetence. When Garland was found dead, the Soviet scientist at once called for the mission to be disbanded.

Following Biafran independence, subject recruited dozens of Igbo veterans to staff private military firm, SafeHaven. Within five years, subject’s tramp cargo planes were delivering small arms and Toyota Hilux light truck bodies to multiple conflict zones in sub-Saharan Africa, frequently to buyers on the opposite sides of the same dispute. Long history of successful business dealings and escapes from legal jeopardy have probably reinforced subject's ego, while great wealth, political influence, and corporate structures provide hermetic insulation from the externalities of profit-driven behavior.

Has asserted that market forces are genuine indicators of the popular will and can therefore be trusted to supply social goods if and when they are needed, obviating the need for government intervention.

Subject's well-documented obsession with private wealth and personal branding--he is an unapologetic megalomaniac--reflects psychological insecurity carried over from his youth and the continuing burdens of official and unofficial racism. Money provided first a bargaining chip with which to mitigate state control over his body.

Nwabudike Morgan was immediately discovered a stowaway on Unity, having made the journey in a sealed supernumerary compartment adjacent to the bridge, where he was sequestered for much of the remainder of the Unity Crisis. Morgan moved freely among the senior leadership and struck up what some at the time considered a genuine friendship with Captain Jonathan Garland, with whom he played at least two games of chess. Morgan is often put forward as a suspect in Garland's murder.

Once the bridge crew dispersed, Morgan woke other stowaways now believed to have been brought aboard during construction, a group now known to include heavily-armed SafeHaven mercenaries. They, in turn, proselytized heavily among the other survivors, and further expanded their numbers with the charter colonists of various Morgan Industries subsidiaries. Morgan led his people in seizing various materials from ship's stores, including colonists, equipment, and consumable supplies reserved for the Enumeration of the New Two Thousand.

Director of Legislative Affairs for Sen. George Malverne (Radical Rep-TN), 2034-5. As seminary student, ministered to American Lunar Concession following LaSalle reactor leak. Six mercy missions inside Arctic Circle following Battle at the Top of the World, during which two Soviet icebreakers lost nuclear containment.

Returned to Georgia at Malverne’s invitation, just two months prior to its unilateral declaration of independence and subsequent formation of the Christian States of America. Like millions of others, subject chose to serve in a strictly humanitarian capacity, first as a member of the Citizen’s Auxiliary to Atlanta’s Baptist Health Network. Resigned in November 2052 to organize the Kansas City Mission, one of only a handful of independent relief clinics to serve the Disputed Territories.
