It's great to see this community back alive again!

How many of the old guard remain? I hope that life has treated everyone well. It's been... interesting for me, to put it mildly ;nod

I'll make a few threads showing some of what I've been up to over the years in the coming days

Green is checking by regularly.  Yitzi turned back up a few years ago, but not lately...  I don't know that anyone has heard from scient in forever, but the OpenSMAC github would be a place to look..

That's who I can think of off the top.

Hello again :)

I don't do much with SMAC any more, but I'm glad that you've got the website up again! Congratulations to everyone who made that happen!

I know that all three of the most recent code and modding projects are still going: induktio and tnevolin are still working on their mods. Tnevolin's Will to Power mod had an update just yesterday; and GLSMAC, an open source effort to reimplement SMAC is still going too. Discussion mostly happens on it's discord, I think.

Scient is not doing anything with SMAC any more, to my knowledge, and the OpenSMACX github repo has not had any updates in years.

That sunny dome! Those caves of ice! And all who heard should see them there, And all should cry, Beware! Beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair! Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread, For he on honey-dew hath fed, And drunk the milk of Paradise.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Datalinks
