Heading to the routine check, usually makes me sick for a few hours.   :(

Twice a year for regular checkups, but it doesn't stop at that because there may be some spot fillings, or a couple visits to put a crown on a tooth that has too many patches already.

So twice a year minimum. Yes, there was a period in my life when I neglected that, and wound up spending more time in the dentist's chair in the long run. So- choose and perish.

Dentistry has changed so much in my lifetime. Fluoridated water wasn't universal. Same with toothpaste and rinses. brushes weren't ergonomic. Drills weren't water cooled with pre-warmed water. Injections, if you got them, weren't preceded by swabs of lidocaine.

But I have a conditioned response to this stuff, and a flinch. It's psychological.

I honestly can't remember the last time I went to the dentist. It's been years, certainly. Gulp.

Well there's a check-up. These days they have sedation dentistry, so that they can put you out as in a surgical procedure, and fix it all at once. You can find them, okay I'm thinking yellow pages, but I suppose by Google.

You probably don't have the money for that. Dentistry schools offer discount services, much the same as beauty schools. You could look for one of those.

It is not uncommon to see patients undergo permanent psychological trauma in the presence of the Sphere, before the nerve stapler has even been strapped into position. Its effect on the general consciousness of the culture is profound: husbands have seen wives go inside, and mothers their children. Dr. Xynan left the surface of the sphere semitranslucent for a reason. You can hear them in there.. you can see them. It is a thing of terrible beauty.
~Baron Klim 'The Music of the Spheres'
