Getting cargo to the International Space Station is expensive and difficult — that's a huge part of why there's been so much buzz over commercial space flight operations like SpaceX. So if I were an astronaut living on board the ISS, I'd like to think I would pick my personal possessions very carefully, because I imagine the habitat is cramped and it might be a long time before I could get anything sent up again.

Maybe that's just not how astronauts roll, though, because here's a video of (presumably) NASA's Scott Kelly floating around the ISS in a gigantic gorilla suit, set to the Benny Hill theme.

I have no idea why this suit was deemed essential enough to send into zero gravity, or why Kelly himself found it personally important. But it's kind of heartwarming to know that even astronauts on the ISS share my ability to keep completely useless and unwieldy items around the home.

Each individual pipe contains a hot slurry of minerals drawn from Planet's crust and makes a sound like rain falling on a tin roof. When they converge on the trunkline the sound is a terrifying thunder, a thunder of untold wealth, and power.
~Captain Ulrik Svensgaard 'Tending the Sea'
