Jack O'lantern and Snowman are good ideas.

They're just nick nacks done in wax, ultimately.  I don't really get what the deal is with women and scented candles to begin with - but women see to like giving and receiving them just fine, despite not actually lighting them often.  Casting figurines in wax with a wick, instead of plaster, adds value...

Yeah, I don't get the scented candles to sit and never light either.  Candles have a purpose, I don't understand NOT lighting them any more than I understand people who collect toys to keep them in the original packaging.

I know it's a THING, I just don't get it.

Incidentally;

I did the figurine of toddler Buster up as a scented candle for Buster's Momma for Christmas about ten years ago - she said, rather delightedly, "I can't burn this!"  I imagine it's still on a shelf; it was for a long time two residences ago...

I wish castings of that weren't such an awful trial to get out of the mold without snapping the head off - my brother has overalls so firmly established as artists' working clothes for us -he and Buster wore matching ones to the open house when I made the space monkey base, and I've started doing it, too when I'm over there- that I put an overalls icon on the business card.  Branding matters...

I made the skull last night - here with the first layer of latex for the mold almost dry.

It certainly not my most precise and detailed work ever - not all that symmetrical, and the teeth are too big and not enough of them.  -Also, it looks about half Neanderthal, when I was aiming for 100%.  Still, the flaws give it a certain hand-made charm that wouldn't be there if I'd taken more time.

Here it is with the pie plate left in for a sense of scale:

So, there was a toddler Buster in her overalls figurine among the stuff that's been waiting forever for Mylochka to paint -that's exactly what the pic above was of- and she got on the stick Tuesday and painted it, and set it out in the booth beside the little business card rack.  Images get people's attention, and branding matters.

Now, my vision is that my brother makes branch-section base for it about 4-5" across, and we glue the whole thing together along with sorta scale representations of out art (though it was wise to set out what we already had and not wait for him, believe me).

And that's where the part of especial interest to Rusty comes in a doll mask (probably for li'l Buster to wear until the Fink comes through with his part).

Drying now.  I may do a butterfly trim of the outer edges, depending on what Mylochka thinks.

Just tell the haunted Barbie that it's a facial, or a sleeping mask. That should appease her.

If you lean in and squint hard, you might can make out the overalls in the left background of the business cards...

...And the overalls on my brother in the newspaper pic...

Dots in the eyes.  Pet peeve.  Like how everything has to put an LED in there.

Seems a popular choice if it's for sale, though.

Those are just pinheads put in for the photo.  I don't know what became of that mask.

Those flower girls are insufferably cute.

Celebrating Bustermas casting her present -she's in California, so no hurry- the first skull candle

Almost time to take it out of the mold, two hours later.

The foil beside the jar is the core for a laughing Buddha.  I'm thinking also, a seated Ramses, a'la' Abu Simel.  Snowman and Jack O'Lantern are still good ideas...
