I can't say that about my old company.

Their problem was that they were always chasing their tail from cheaper to faster to correctly. Every year they changed their priority, and never seemed to appreciate it was a two out of three trade off.
That cheap and quick approach worked long enough to get the vice-presidents their bonuses, but didn't stand up in court.

In the big picture, the work people like me did was essential, but a negligible piece of the expense pie. We should have had a consistent "quickly and correctly" focus for our work, don't worry about the costs, just report them quickly and correctly, too.

You'd just expect a company that gets into the business of doing X to have a system in place that DOES X.  Not "ok, so how do we do this now?" 

For 3 years. 

I mean, I get the legal need to put it on hold last year, but the priority shift this year is going to either lose business or land people in jail.
