Those who have been anticipating the release of the PlayStation 4 exclusive, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, will have to wait another month.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog's Creative Director, Neil Druckmann, along with Game Director, Bruce Straley, announced that the game will now launch on April 26. Before today, the title was set to release on March 18.

"This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game's development in a timely manner," said the directors. "However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game's levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing)."

(To the uninitiated, Uncharted is hEt's game of choice, presently.  Drake is her video game boyfriend.  And the PS4 at Christmas is TOTALLY so she can play Uncharted, disguised as a 'family' gift.  Uncharted 3 is the first game I never felt a desire to play, yet have seen every bit of at least once, if not more, through watching her play.)

Alright, new year, time to get going.

First off, we're mostly having a down year on the garden so I can try to get some nutrients into the one side of it.  However, I also may have found a source for those Cheyenne Bush pumpkins I've been trying to find for 3 years.  There are likely some hoops to jump through to get the seeds, though, and I think I might just have to, so I can cultivate my own seeds.

My Post Christmas Shopping yielded 12 lights.  That's 6-12 monsters.  (I haven't decided if each needs 2 lights or one.  Father was built with 2 of these)  New skull mold means I can start churning out tests soon.  Maybe this weekend.  Need to decide on what I'm doing about bones, and that starts with inventorying what I have.

The Bone Mother will likely use regular sockets and CFLs, more akin to the Chimera than Father/Mother.  This will let her stand out brighter/more 'powerful' and the other things as her servants, visually.  Toying with whether I want to make a new sculpt or repurpose my old witch skulls to use as her base head, and considering repurposing FRED.

So, that's a total of 7 creatures possible this year.  Likely don't have time for that many.  Bone Mother first, then we'll see.

I've decided stupidity must be a communicable disease.

We need a vaccine.

Well, making the rounds placing orders for the year...

Attempting once again to get Cheyenne Bush Pumpkins. Absolutely impossible to find in the US, I'm attempting to import them from Canada. Theoretically, these would be a solution I could grow at the house.  Compact plants grow pumpkins more like a zuchini plant with heavy yields.  Hopefully we shall see.

Talia picked a number of bizarro sunflowers to try as well, but most the flower orders this year are going to be from the nursery.  She likes that better than the seeds.

Case of plaster wrap on the way, soon as it gets here, we're going to get to work on some Unobies, I think.

Does that mean that you spent your money on supplies rather than bones or tools?

Haven't spent it yet.  This is just out of my normal budget so far.

Leaning towards a Harvey ribcage, though.

The skeleton guide:
Blucky:  Blown (hollow) mold plastic skeleton, completely unrealistic (ribcage is one piece), $10-$20, what you've seen in wallmart prior to 2010 or so.
Wally:  Blown plastic, but much more realistic than a blucky as the bones are represented separately, but not anatomically correct. $20-$30
PoseNStay: Same mold as above, but cast plastic, so much sturdier.  Hardware at joints lets it hold a pose.  $30-$40
Barnes:  Latex skeleton, so flexible.  About the same 'realism' as the PoseNStay otherwise.  $50-$60
Barney:  Child sized medical skeleton: $60-$80
Bucky: 4th quality medical skeleton.  Didn't pass the QA test to make it worthless as a teaching skeleton, so sold as Halloween props.  $80-120  (this is Fred)
Harvey: 2nd quality skeleton, teaching quality, but a few discolorations or rough spots.  $180+
1st quality: $600+

I can get JUST the ribcage of a Harvey for $60.  Tear it apart (probably leave the spine together actually), that's a ton of bones I can mold.  But I can probably swing that with just the normal budget as well.  Just going to forget about the other for the time being.

Begin with a function of arbitrary complexity. Feed it values 'sense data'. Then, take your result, square it, and feed it back into your original function, adding a new set of sense data. Continue to feed your results back into the original function ad infinitum. What do you have? The fundamental principle of human consciousness.
