Just realized, you probably meant the numbers on the signs.  I'm pretty sure that's order of registration since I registered within hours of registration opening, and #1 is the city office holding the contest.

hEt described our new neighbors' decor as "Halloween Vomit".  It's certainly heading down that route the more they continue to spew up upon the lawn. 

Thing is, a lot of people seem to prefer that to the stuff I do, so to each their own. 

Playing with Vera last night, got some great pictures, but had trouble installing photoshop onto the new computer to get them editted, so they didn't get uploaded yet.  Upgrade to my old Photoshop apparantly we'd had for a year, but finally have a computer that can run it.  Don't know that I like it yet, some things I used I'm going to have to refind. 

The good news is we seem to have broken the spine of the HOA on Halloween.  Another house has decor up now as well.  Always so nice to see people participating in any capacity.  Heck, maybe they'll even get some Christmas stuff instead of the Stepford Christmas Standard that's been the norm.

I'm concerned about those horns staying stable in action.  I imagine you've put a lot that doesn't show into that, so I'm mostly trying to guess where you're going with the rest.  How you plan to finish it, whether under burlap, fur, or latex skin, would give me a better idea of how far along you are towards being finished.

Nice command of the anatomical structure you're exaggerating.  Those brow creases over the nose are really well done.  You've got the basic structure of an exaggeration of your own nose going.  If this is going to be something latex/skin, those realistic details really matter - they matter anyway, but especially then.  I mean, not so scary if it looks fake.

Keen to see where you take this.  Those horns are gonna look great.

Going with a "Green Man in Fall" concept to go with Talia's Dryad in fall.  The horns just seemed to fit so well with the concept and feature in several myths surrounding Harvest celebrations.  I have spanish moss with which to make a beard (and yes, I'll glue it to my face as well), and perhaps hair. 

Haven't fully determined how I'll finish the showing portions of the nose and cheeks, but autumnal leaves from the forehead up and back of the head are the initial plan.   

The Coif of muslin my sculpture is attached to provides most the security.  I stitch the back something akin to a luchador mask so as to tie myself into these kinds of masks. 

As for how far along, this was literally my first hour of work aside from the coif.

Ah.  I didn't think the eye sockets looked very polished yet.  It's a very good start.

oh I started at the eyes thinking "skull" but it came out otherwise lower down, and I like that direction better, but can't do more on the eyes till we get some drying to support the horns.

The neighbor's house at the start of the week...

Their pumpkin monster in the back here.  Nifty homemade.  I believe off SpookyBlue's instructions.    Those pink topped sticks in the front will be a ring of ghosts playing.  It's a cliche Martha Stewart project. 



Cliche pinterest project (not sure the original).  Cute.  But works better as a focus piece.

So. A couple months back they finished construction on a new office building next door. We occupy part of it but the head honchos for the gubment occupy the rest.

Like many businesses pictures of our 'product' adorn the walls. They are having a bring your kid over to trick or treat party for all the lower gubment slogs and thus decorated the office in spook alley fashion. It amuses me as perhaps more macabre than normal to have the assorted Ghouls next to pictures of the product. Or maybe I'm overthinking it.
