#2 is something of a prequel.  Mostly backstory on her, specifically, and through her we get to see what Heaven is like.  So, yes, she'll be a more 'clean' and polished version in #2. 

Let me see if I can dig up Hasslehoff's video where she is an applicant.

So, here's innocent little applicant version, who keeps finding herself in trouble in heaven.  (the whole theme of #2 seems to be you're better off being yourself in Hell than pretending to be someone you're not in Heaven)

...There's a lot in favor of just being yourself, but still a lot to be said for trying to be the person you want to be, if your aspiration is any good...

I think it's mostly autobiographical to be honest.  "heaven" is set up as a production studio where everything needs to appear perfect by any means neccessary and anyone with thoughts that differ are sent off to hell. 

Considering the Director made Saw II and III and campaigned for the production company to let him do something HE wanted to (Repo! The Genetic Opera), and they agreed so long as he did Saw IV.  Well, they didn't give Repo! a proper release.  No promotion, limited theater release, etc.  I know it never officially came out in Utah, not even to the art houses until it had hit DVD.  So, he split with the company after Saw IV, and has since been blacklisted by the bigger companies in Hollywood. 

He took Repo! more or less door to door on a roadshow, and it's gained a cult following something akin to Rocky Horror to prove a point that it COULD have been successful.  They WANTED to make Repo! 2, more or less, but the movie house refused to release the rights (And made a bad movie with the same concept Repo Men).  So, Darren/Terrance made Devil's Carnival instead.  Unable to find a production company, they did it on their own dime, and #1 was officially a short film, coming in under an hour.  Marketed directly to fans with a roadshow tour, it made enough to fund #2 at full length, also made completely independently and marketed directly to fans with roadshow. 

So, yeah, Hollywood condemned him to the hell of their blacklist, and he's just decided to revel in it.  I think it says a hell of a lot that most the cast from Repo! is still with Darren doing Devil's Carnival, and those that aren't are due to scheduling conflicts more than lack of desire.

Friday, Lagoon opens their Halloween festivities and we'll be taking the kids down to that as well. 



The super extended forcast shows 2 thunderstorms for the last week of October, one the night of our carving party.  My experience with this forecast is that it's fairly "accurate" in the number of storms, but they tend to slip one way or the other up to 10 days.  Most of October warm and dry, with that last week very cold and wet.  Hoping it slips into earlier in October, because lack of water for my lawn will be a problem if we don't get any in October as they are shutting off water October 1 this year.  1000 people walking all over already dead grass would probably not be a good thing.

So, Talia's mostly done costume wise, buying the rest tomorrow. 

Kyle and Alec are fairly set. 

Mine is up in the air.  I'd started a fairly generic mask, but I'm not in love with it. 

Part of me wants to try something that would help me in future years for Talia, but don't dare experiment on her.  That would mean shaving my head...hEt don't like that, and it's not something I love to do, yet I'm leaning that way at the moment...unless I come up with a good inspiration for a headpiece...
