I honestly haven't decided WHAT I'm doing with it. 

It's being made because:

1: I needed a project.
2: I've had this concept kicking around for 3 years and wanted to see it through.
3: I'm teaching a course on how to make these things as I go. 

That said, I'm hoping to debut it on Walpurgisnacht (April 30) for a detailed photo shoot. 

After that, it very well may be put up for sale and I'll move on to the next concept to be unleashed in November, err donated to a charity auction.  (SOMEONE has to build a ghost of christmas future for the damn happy lala tree festival, and I guess that's me.) 

Might keep it around, I'm still up in the air on that.  The kids REALLY like it.

Bah, horror has always been a part of the holiday, long before it was dubbed Christ's bday. 

But, it is one of the more enduring and recognizable sources.

Sculpting in the driveway, neighbors all coming to see the Barghest.  Didn't get as much done as I wanted as a result.

Virtually all conversations follow this general format of questions: 

"Building something for Halloween?"  Will be fun to answer that the GOCF is for Christmas. 

"What are you guys doing this year?"  (which is particularly baffling to me as in my mind we've been "doing" the same thing for 8 years.) 

"How do you make that?"

"Where do you come up with these ideas?"

"You guys planning that party again?" 

"You should make it a pot luck and have everyone help, that's a lot of work."  (though these folks never actually offer to help in October...and we TRIED the potluck with very poor results)

"We look forward to it every year."


Even the guys across the street have fallen in line lately, and I suspect it has something to do with their son trying his hand at a corn maze... 

I'm getting asked if we're selling pumpkins again this year as well.  Only answer to that is it depends how the harvest goes. 

There's some kids in the neighborhood that come over for advice on how to build whatever they are building each year as well, but that's usually around July, and one of them is off to college now (though his younger brother is taking over).  There's also a couple artists that now come chat me up for concepts as well.  (met last year over Trevor)  I have a rather overdeveloped knowledge of obscure 'dark' creatures, so I can generally point them to some research material for just about any random concept they come up with.

Interesting beak, but the details don't come over that much (at least over video). Not enough color difference perhaps?
