Hell/carnival is dirty, as in dirt, and the ?people? too.  Not my bag, but I see that it's a good musical, well-done, just, they didn't quite make it for me --- maybe if I sat through it, I'm wrong; dunno.

DC 2 they all very literally were just cast out of heaven and are wounded.  Satan organizes them and teaches them their still beautiful despite their sins, and that they don't have to conform to Heaven's caste system.  They all bear the scars of those wounds later, but are not DIRTY.

The live events encourage picking sides actually.  Which is funny.  If you put a group of proud non-conformists in the roll of picking sides of a conflict where the non-conformists are the heroes, how many will rebel against the movies messaging?
