I'm at a different work location today and drove further downstream.  The train yard is flooding.  THAT could have serious impacts if they have to shut that down.

Near 90s this week, rain coming the weekend.

We're having a sunny early-to-mid twenties today, with rain tomorrow and dipping just below twenty.  :P

Had a lady get swept into the river on that stretch I drive every day.  They've got posts up along the river people are still looking for her body a week later.

There's a reservoir well upstream that's about to spill over on that one, but the next closest control reservoir is looking like it will hold.

Another river flooded onto the canyon road in another canyon.  It was cleared as it was caused by debris clogging the normal route.

While the water is great for the great salt lake, we're still below the lake's level at this time last year, showing just how easy it would be to lose all this water with a hot dry summer.

We've had more-then-usual wet weather the last 2 seasons. Groundwater levels are finally back up to (mostly) normal to above normal levels in most places of the country. Farmers may be happy. No drought measures this growing season.

we’ll that didn’t last long.  The Ogden river undercut that highway and its collapsing. Ogden canyon closed.  Not a terrible loss logistically but there’s a few homes along there.

Weber River still higher.  They've added a  monitoring station near the freeway entrance I take every day.

River up to a few feet from the freeway though doubtful it can cause any damage as that section is basically a field so it's spread out after spilling over the banks.

Little bit of a story time why this is so fascinating to me.

83 or 84, the previous record years, I fell into the Ogden river and was washed downstream to be fished out by a fisherman.  Had a life vest on, and we were camping along that river at the time.  We always went camping mid June.  In my memory, I recall thinking the dang life vest was preventing me from getting my feet under me more than it was helping in my mind.

As I've grown older, this never really made sense to me as these local rivers just weren't close to deep enough to match that memory.   Until now.

Are you talking about the I84, or the I15? I'm guessing the former since the I15 seems to cross the river only once.

My parents have fallen off the deep end and smacked headfirst into the cliffs of insanity.  That's the only explanation I have.

they've progressively made things more and more difficult since Covid began, and are still in complete lockdown mode.  Won't engage with anything.  A look back on this thread shows it's always been a difficult situation with my parents, but it's becoming absolutely unbearable to the point I'm about ready to stop trying at all.

Nephew is getting married, parents not attending, refused to meet the bride, and are ignoring any texts about it.  I'm at a complete loss.  Nephew is rightfully taking it personally.

There's a charity that just comes and stakes a pride flag in your yard for you on appropriate days as a fund raiser.

We've had them come do it a couple years.  Someone come and stole all of them in the neighborhood this year.

Well, fine.  Muck with the guy that goes overboard on decorating every year.  I'm building a display tomorrow.  Display big enough to hit the felony mark if they screw with it, and making sure security cams ill catch it.

Ah, you're behind a bit.  Bible is banned.  They're going after the Book of Mormon.

I didn't think it was possible but the drought seems to have killed most our milkweed.  The main patch isn't coming back up.

This build is one of those things I can kinda see it coming that it’ll influence the general market in a few years time.

Back in 2011, I started with this unconventional internal lighting, which has since been duplicated. In 2014, I made Mother, the monster “pregnant” with mini pumpkin monsters.  This, too, has seen a commercial product.  Trevor in 2012 and 2.0 in 2018 has seen multiple commercial knockoffs.  I started playing with the idea of a visible heart in 2017 with Cropper, improved on it in 2020 with my modification of the giant skelly.  Now light up hearts are being made.

If the whole lighting scheme comes together as it looks in my head, this will take that concept to another level.

It is not uncommon to see patients undergo permanent psychological trauma in the presence of the Sphere, before the nerve stapler has even been strapped into position. Its effect on the general consciousness of the culture is profound: husbands have seen wives go inside, and mothers their children. Dr. Xynan left the surface of the sphere semitranslucent for a reason. You can hear them in there.. you can see them. It is a thing of terrible beauty.
