I think it's technically public, but was more aimed at congress. 

Basically it was making a case for the same old argument. 

Our ICBMs were built in 1978.  Your car isn't that old.  Even if it was that old and you had done perfect maintenance, it would be having issues.  It's time to buy a new one.

I've been driving by the river for some 20 years now, I don't think I've ever seen it this high. 

Good snowfall winter and straight to 80 degree weather.  We're thinking of heading out to the spiral jetty again to see how much the Great Salt Lake has risen.

Too bad I won't cross the atlantic then to see the eclipse this summer.
Might be a once in a decade view to see the lake full.

I've got to edit my pics from the jetty.  Maybe hEt will post some. 

Water was up to the outer rim of it, and just 2 days prior to our heading out there it was under water due to increased snow melt at the time, as that tapered off the lake leveled out.

North and South lake are divided by a causeway that lets trains go across the lake instead of over it.  Most the wetlands are to the south of the lake, so there's 2 methods put in to preserve the wetlands during drought years.  1: the causeway has several gates that can be opened to allow more free flow between the different ends.  2: there's another canal system to make sure the bear river enters from the north even during heavy runoff.  This year is so plentiful both systems have been opened to allow more water into the north, and peak flow even had the north end higher than the south end. 

Couple observations from this trip:

1.  There was a tour bus and 20 cars.  TONS more crowded than last time.
2.  The northern lake is over a tar pit, but the sand and rocks make walking on it relatively safe as long as you pay attention.  Animals are occasionally trapped in tar that bubbles up.  It was a LOT more solid walking out on it than last time.  Either from the higher water, colder winter, or just chance.

Well...that was...

Great concept. 
Great twist at the end. 
Good acting from the old man.
mediocre to bad acting from the mains. 
Horrible execution trying to use the found footage style on a concept and setting more suited to a traditional film. 

Drop the forced jump scares and found footage crap, and do a traditional hitchcock slow tension style, or even a 70s styled horror pace, and this could have been a good film.
