Back in 2002 when I first started on this system, I made myself a little cheat sheet. 

It was just a simplistic diagram of various configurations of the system I labeled so I always knew what folks were talking about, since everyone uses acronyms or numbers for the various pieces. 

I would add to it in hand written notes when I come across more info I needed.  Most of my notes dealt with my area of focus.  Some engineers saw it and wanted copies, so I printed them the originals they could annotate. 

When I switched from Boeing to TASC, I had to leave behind my copy, but the TASC Engineers had THEIR copy, but no one had a clean copy anymore.  So, I took theirs and added my notes back into the diagrams, and we started running into problems.  I had to limit some of my notes to avoid the total information available on the one document from becoming one that needed to be classified. 

Fast forward to today. 

Someone "found" this great cheat sheet with loads of handy info, and decided to share it with everyone.

I recognize the engineers handwriting.  I recognize my own.  There are 2 other handwritings on this drawing now as well.  And given my history with this and what was and was not allowed...I immediately raised the red flag to security.  Now we're shut down cleansing any system this has touched as it was not handled correctly.  Waiting for a new computer....

Classification is a bizarre world. 

None of the individual pieces are classified.  It's the putting them together that becomes problematic, thus an easy mistake to make, really.  Document not classified, my notes are not classified, logically one would assume it's still not classified.  But together, presto. 

It's like some of the items around here.  They're either unclassified or top secret based on one itty bitty not so obvious change.  Gotta be on your toes.  And I'm one of the fairly old dogs on the program these days.  Most the kids don't understand what to even look for. 

The other day a package arrived for instance.  Kid casually starts to open it, and I had to stop him and explain it couldn't be opened THERE!  It's a classified shipment.

No [poop] sherlock, you don't ADVERTISE that, it would be like putting a bullseye on packages to steal. There's particular packaging and shipping standard combos you just have to treat as if they are classified (and they usually are in this business).

800 failed attempts to sign into my website today.  I've disabled that sign on all together.  I just don't understand the continued attempt to gain access.

It's got to be several bots.  It's been increasing over several months now.  More and more yahoo emails trying to sign onto the logon I use for most the posting (which has no admin rights anyway)

Perhaps it's just some righteous people crusading against evil. They must persist- it's a test of faith.

I THINK it's more related to the yahoo emails being hacked and they're trying to hack everything that tied to that account.  I got looking at it closer, it's ALL from yahoo accounts that seem to have signed up for a feed.

...Uno, I watched the 2012 Dark Shadows remake w/ Johnny Depp this evening ---

-I never saw the Depp be what ruined a picture before.  He's usually a very, very good actor - astonishingly good for such a prettyboy who could have made a fine career on just being pretty.

The picture had a look, in the elaborate, gorgeous, Collinwood sets - albeit under-lit, being a Tim Burton movie that had to look gothic.  Michelle Pfeiffer, in particular, really nailed a very soap opera style of acting without dialing it up to the level it called attention to itself.  Chloe Moretz never sucks in anything, besides, and it's a pity her part wasn't bigger.

The movie had everything it needed to pretty good something -it's exactly the sort of spider-webby thing that Tim Burton tends to excel at- except the thematic unity to decide whether it was horror or a comedy, and thus failed miserably as both.  It's almost as if Burton told Depp, and no one else in the cast, it was a comedy; hard to believe, but harder to believe the failure was all Depp, given how hit-and-miss Burton can be.

I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this, and I'm pretty disappointed...
