Windowed mode for SMACX via Dxwnd

Has anyone used Dxwnd from sourceforge to run SMACX in windowed mode? I can get it to work but am unsure about configuring it to put the window in the right place for recording, and how to move the mouse in and out of the window. IE keeping it in for scrolling, but moving out to access toolbar. Also would I have to change the alphax.txt file to prevent problems. Sorry, can't mod so in the dark. Basically I'm winging it.
