Ask Solver
« on: August 14, 2023, 01:12:33 am »

This is me ruthlessly and shamelessly leveraging my friendship with Solver into some content.

So here's the deal: ask what you want to know that Solver might - try to keep it to gaming and/or the history of the online fan community [he won't remember much specific, but likes to discuss the Golden Years].

He'll be annoyed by my presumption -I'm doing this w/o permission- but he'll probably choose to look in once a week or so, and completely ignore questions he doesn't want to answer.  -Try to ask good ones, then.  -And have a little patience/keep checking back.

[He's got some juicy stories on Soren, y'know, and hasn't told me any of them - yet...]

So Solver: what's this about Dale representing you on Mohawk's Team page?

So, Solver, is there more DLC in the pipeline for Ol'World?

I actually know this one - do I spoil it, or let Solver answer?

Don't defeat the purpose of this thread. ;)

Well, its been two weeks, and no sign of Solver.

May I ask you if you're still willing to spoil the purpose of this thread, BUncle?

There is, indeed, more DLC in the pipeline.

That's what Solver is, and has been, working on.  -It sells well, and it's even good experience for the greener members of the team.

More like civs and scenarios like the Hittites and Thermopylae (Spartans against Persia), or expansion to later ages?

I like it as an ancient/classical game. I would rather see more civilizations, characters, and more event chains represented than get into the Middle Ages.

Any chance for a game setting toggle that would only allow a wonder to be built in its historical location?

This arises from a desire to actually see The Colossus on the map at Rhodes. I have been trying to make it happen lately, but I can't control the location, or when I do somebody else has beat me to the construction of the wonder.
I would also like to see The Pyramids next to the Nile. I have managed the Babylonian wonders in Babylon.

Well, maybe it should be an achievement if not a toggle.

Any thought to a Britania expansion of the map?

Or a Hadrian's Wall Wonder?

In the great commons at Gaia's Landing we have a tall and particularly beautiful stand of white pine, planted at the time of the first colonies. It represents our promise to the people, and to Planet itself, never to repeat the tragedy of Earth.
