I'm actually curious if the skull Igil-ish instrument is real or prop. 

I know electric guitars don't really use the body as a resonator, it's all in the pick-ups, and this looks like it might be similar concept. 

This band is real hit or miss for me on their works...

The cow skull.  Pretty sure it's an Igil like instrument.  2 stringed frettless played with bow.  I only really know of IT from The Hu though, so it may descend from something else.
