Well, I don't have much of an idea for Mylochka's painting of the rest -doodle in some typical crafts from around the shop against a rock-wall background, maybe- but I think not fixing up the discontinuities in the mache look to the central showcasing of the storefront and sign would underline what I do on these...

...I'm at a point where I have no masks in the queue, and no bases or appliances in production.  What I am doing is thinking about candles and a pig snout - that's basically imagining working on a thing over and over until I have it worked out just exactly what I want/how to do it.  -With candles, I need to think of a few figures that are -very roughly- cylindrical, but mostly, it's trying to figure out practical molds.  There's no one at the gallery doing candles, and I've got everything to make some french vanilla-scented ones if I can work those problems out w/o spending more money.  Latex works best as molds for no seams and ease of removal, but doesn't take the heat for very many copies before it gets aged into tearing up - and the molds are too much work for that.  Plaster is cumbersome and messy and there's always a problem with edges chipping off.  The best luck I've had in the past is with sculpey - still annoyingly prone to breaking, but not as messy to fool with as plaster...

The binary mix putty stuff?  I've got some of that, and have had good results.  I think it's similar to those flexible cake molds - if so, it would take heat pretty well.  -I ought to do some google research before I try it with the modest amount I have at hand...

Haven't I told you about the massive head-wound Ken candles one Halloween back in Texas in the late 90s?  I've still got the mold...

...Finally clicking on your link, I find it's Amazing Mold Putty, which is exactly what I have, and is alleged to be a heat-resistant mold for wax.

I'm gonna need more of the stuff...

I've used it to cast eyeballs out of hot glue and it works well for THAT, so should handle the wax fine.

Man's unfailing capacity to believe what he prefers to be true rather than what the evidence shows to be likely and possible has always astounded me. We long for a caring Universe which will save us from our childish mistakes, and in the face of mountains of evidence to the contrary we will pin all our hopes on the slimmest of doubts. God has not been proven not to exist, therefore he must exist.
~Academician Prokhor Zakharov
