Just came in on the online news here. Lift off succeeded;

Damn, just a tad too early for me. 

I was hoping they'd be live broadcasting from all the cameras the thing is packed with, too, but not so.

Or someone was comparing todays attempt to an apollo fully loaded for moon.  That would be about right.

I was starting to think NASA used incredibly heavy wiring within its modules back in the days.

They did. It was 7:05am EST. Of course, my internet went down at T-5 seconds, so I had to watch a replay. But I did get to see the stage separation.

No, Orion was capable of live broadcasting the entire mission, in fact it IS broadcasting down to mission control.  They aren't airing that, just the launch. 

It makes sense from a business perspective.  Just wishful thinking on my part.  The general public probably wouldn't even be interested. 

IF everything goes well, we'll probably see some pics and/or video of various portions of the flight as part of the media/PR spiel.

Sounds like the second firing was successful and it's out of LEO.
