Fear Factory runs as a paintball arena most the year.  They still do Halloween in the fall.  Just Zombies. 

I don't understand how they're still in business.  The next person I talk to that says it's worth what they are asking will be the first.  The areas I specifically had concerns about which was causing them all the trouble now operate as extra fee rides, not as part of the haunt itself. 

The Diablo place didn't listen to me on the admission, insisting tickets should be $20 for their first year haunt.  It didn't break even as a result.  Most the stuff moved to Vegas, I've heard my stuff is at Circus Circus.

Can you imagine a slot machine or some other thing in Vegas that is based on your Halloween stuff...

Makes me think of all those fake Clown stories as possibly being a sort of marketing for this, except that they were mostly a year ago... too far away...

I can imagine a whole wing-full of slot machines based Tevor the Transi, with several giant versions and old ladies in a rows along the side feeding quarters into pleurants faces and cranking skeletal arms...

Any opinion on the first of the AHS:Cult?

Makes me think of all those fake Clown stories as possibly being a sort of marketing for this, except that they were mostly a year ago... too far away...

I don't watch AHS.  I tried the first two seasons.  BORING. 

But, my opinion would be shameless cash-in from the clown craze with bits of Purge for good measure.  Too little.  Too late.  If anything, their carnival themed year was more original. 

Horror's in a strange place as a genre.  Almost everyone has made it a point to go low budget on the horror as the only way to make money.  Horror doesn't draw crowds they say. 

As a result, you get action movies posing as horror (The Mummy), cheap revealed footage crap (it's played out, folks, leave it alone), and random experimental projects with the occasional bright spot.  (Shape of water looks interesting)

However, one studio is bucking the trend and cashing in this year, others will follow. 

Warner Brothers first 2 horror films of the year have outperformed estimates by spending more on the filming and focusing on a good product

I'm sure that It will be mightily successful well. 

In the case of Annabelle and It, they've had brilliant grass roots campaigns even.  The likes of which I haven't seen since the days of Freddy.

Side benefit of huge island.  It works well as a sewing table. 



Got the shape of the base down, gonna take time to glue in all the burlap netting.  With luck I could have if solid enough to try on tomorrow.

We have an island bar - the top'ss narrower than what you have, but Mom does use it for that sometimes, and you know, she's seriously into the sewing, that being her main medium...
