Ah, but you'll miss out on all the little esoteric functions that don't even have anything to do with what you need for your job, but it is what I have to teach you so as I can keep mine...

As well as only touching lightly on the thing you really DO need to know and when you ask to have that expanded on, we reference that it will be covered in the later training sessions that is going to go into more detail on this but then this is the only thing that is never gone into more Detail, and when asked about it, can't say anything as it isn't in the training materials, thus not really having a clue as to how you would use it for your job...

So.

Supermoon.

Our house is, well it's completely open right now.  There's not blinds or curtains on any of the new side, and the windows there are HUGE compared to our last ones.

Cropper is still out in the back.  Father and Mother are "put away" along the fence.

Light was POURING in the windows, so I sauntered over to look this morning and was really struck.  We in the bidniss try really hard and make a lot of cool effects and lightings, but Mother Nature is still the MASTER.  If there was some way to accurately recreate the light of a bright full moon, one could make a whole theme based on it.

I'm telling you, straight up moonlight with a very tiny bit of warm lighting to highlight things would be marvelous.  I can probably fake a scene for a photo shoot.  Couldn't do a whole walkthrough, though.

In fact, looking back, this test shooting of Trevor wasn't TERRIBLY far off.

Need to dim the floods some there, but otherwise would work well.

You get along with the neighbor behind you?

Get a yellow/orange cutout.  Get a spot light.  Put them together on his roof (or on a pole, or whatever) aiming at your back yard.  You should be able to get an approximation at least of moonlight quality light.  Might not be "everywhere" like you would want, but should work out well for a showpiece area or two.

Other aspects work well in the dark - so use that to your advantage.  Jack-o-lanterns are better in darker areas.  You want the cutouts to glow, with just the shape of the pumpkin.

Exactly.  I'm looking at a NO TORCH setup.

Moonlight grass and corn bundles will be just fine as well.

You get the "orchard" area with just some candles hanging from the trees, too.  I think the whole thing could work really well with just pumpkins and candles.

I have professional light stands, I can put a light up 14' in the air somewhere no problem.

I think your idea of picking an area is right.

Back in 2011, first year of the bridge I was wanting it super lit, terrified of people tripping.  I was worried the torches wouldn't be enough light, and I set up a psuedomoon.

I didn't like the look and how it fought with the torches so had mostly forgotten about it running with just torches.....

But, kill all that warm light and you'd be onto something...

From 2011...

Pumpkins under the pseudomoon.  (you can see them picking up some torch light from the left of this shot too)

Good idea what we'd be looking at here.  Just the single torch corrupting the shot in the back left.  Long shadows, add some straw bales and Father in the center of this...
