Economic Victory & Mind Control Immunity
« on: June 27, 2014, 08:40:02 pm »
This was brought up on the Something Awful forums re: my faction set.

1.) Is it accurate that the cost for an Economic Victory is related to the cost of mind controlling the remaining population of Planet?

2.) If that is the case, does the Probe Cost modifier affect the cost of Economic Victory?

3.) Pursuant to the above, is the Mind Control Immunity modifier ignored when calculating Economic Victory?

It is related to the cost of mind controlling everyone else, but is not affected by PROBE or immunities (either faction or that granted by a base being an HQ; in fact, even an HQ is considered to be 1 away from the HQ for calculating the formula).  It is, however, affected by Commerce modifiers and diplomacy; the full formula can be found here.

What about the Probecost modifier?

You mean that granted to the Data Angels and by the Nethack Terminus?  I'm fairly sure they also don't affect it.

Begin with a function of arbitrary complexity. Feed it values 'sense data'. Then, take your result, square it, and feed it back into your original function, adding a new set of sense data. Continue to feed your results back into the original function ad infinitum. What do you have? The fundamental principle of human consciousness.
