Do Satellites fall? Or is it a bug that my satellites will disappear?

If your foes have orbital defense pods, they can attack yours and knock them down. Don't think I've seen it from AI, but perhaps that's because they're usually to far behind to use them much. Or there are some events which kill off all of a specific kind of satellite (asteroid strike for mining, solar flare for energy ones).

Yea, I had the same (two solar flares) last game, killed off over twenty Satellites in total.

Rest assured, the AI does build ODPs and they will shoot at your ODPs & other SATs. Lal is a frequent user of ODPs.

Does anything (besides ODP or missiles) kill the Nutrient satellites, the Flechette Defense satellites or the Geosynchronous Survey satellites?
