KompoZer is not great always, but the price is right and I can do most of what I want to well enough - ISTR you mostly straight code, and a graphics/htm editor might help that?

I probably should have blown the place up and started from scratch but when I moved to self hoisting I had to use Wordpress to convert the old site.  Back then that was fine.  I could alter the css as I wanted. 

The themes and stuff are too complex now and various plugins break in various themes. It’s a pain to find functional combos. 

Right now some of my stuff requires a newer php than my host supports so I’m kinda screwed as I’m far from able to update that manually.

I wouldn't choose Wordpress as too limiting, for all of I wouldn't know how to .html a useful blogging format.  I believe my impression is correct that that kind of thing wants to make everything done with it look kinda alike...  I'd have to up my htm game, I guess...

well it was a blogspot because it was free for so long til I started needing to host pics myself.  Wordpress let me convert over free, and now I'm kinda stuck with just a blow it up and walk away as far as I know.  I need to hire someone, but don't want to spend the money.

Pics, you just upload to the server - the filepath is the address for linking.  You may probably need something like FileZilla and direct server access to do it that way.  It's actually pretty simple once you're in and figure out the file/folder structure and what of it to paste as address.

HTMTL pages you can just dump in the base folder, and they'll work - pics, you'd want to organize at least a little by year, as there's so many...

yeah, I used to filezilla the pics on, but thats a process of get it off the phone to the computer to filezilla in.  The wordpress plugin uploads right from the phone into whatever album (folder) I want.

It’s out of my hands. The host needs to support the updated php first.  No sense me changing host mid billing cycle.
