Yitzi Patch 3.5c - Faction Selection Screen

Has anyone experienced this issue before? When I reach the faction selection screen, the game freezes, having loaded only the quotebox. The Quickstart button still starts a working game, so it looks as though everything else is fine. No modding or tinkering involved. Am using the GOG mac version without the official patch. (Unless it is included.) Could that be the source of the problem? If so, would it be better to use the windows version (Wine, right?) or the MacOS?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm just insane. Trying to mix 3.5c terranx.exe with the 3.4 files isn't going to work well. Forgot I hadn't updated those. Still, if anyone has an answer on the official patch question, would be very grateful.

Possibility: Look under #CUSTOMFACTIONS in alphax.txt. If there is an entry for "testfac, testfac" delete the line because there is no testfac.txt.

Otherwise, be sure all the factions in #FACTIONS, #NEWFACTIONS, and #CUSTOMFACTIONS have their corresponding txt files.
