There are multiple meteor showers expected across the night skies in October but only one with “excellent” viewing conditions.

The first will be Camelopardalids, which peaks on Oct. 5. Conditions for viewing this, however, are poor due to the moon light.

Another meteor shower, Draconids, will peak on Oct. 8. However, observing conditions are very poor, according to Star Walk. Viewers will likely have to try to block the full moon light using a tree or building to improve meteor visibility.

A meteor showers peaks again on Oct. 11 — but still won’t be visible to many.

The Epsilon Geminids’ peak will be on Oct. 18 and conditions are favorable, according to the website. People in Massachusetts can begin watching for this meteor shower around midnight.

The best time to see a meteor shower in October will be around midnight on Oct. 21 when Orionids’ peaks. It is known for its fast meteors, bright fireballs and is among the most beautiful meteor showers of the year, according to Star Walk.

“... observers may even witness small outbursts of activity on the nights around the peak,” the website states.

Finally, on Oct. 24, sky watchers can see Leonis Minorids’ peak. Under a dark sky, people might be able to see it with a naked eye.

I loved my chosen. How then to face the day when she left me? So I took from her body a single cell, perhaps to love her again.
