Activation emails for new user registration not working?

Well, I tried to reset my password too, with authentification email, and nothing came to the email account.
Luckily I stumbled upon the correct password, and here I am...

Certainly the few people on the Discord who were interested in joining expressed difficulty with the whole emails being broken thing and gave up

I think this is the most important info in this thread, so again:

I can hook up anyone who's lost their password and has another way of contacting me -say, through a friend, or on the AC2 Facebook page- and I DO  -promptly- approve new account signups that I'm NOT 100% sure are bots.

Email notifications have been fixed, and I've set registrations back to email...
