Generating a JPG/PNG from a map?

Is there an way to generate a JPG or PNG from a map?

Like this one:

Or preferably one with more distinct grid lines, like:

Yeah I guess that would work. Just wondering if there was a more convenient way to do it.

For higher res images it would require stitching together several screen shots.
