Ok!  I am using it in earnest.  I definitely like the color tonality.  Somehow I've failed to notice the many left side unit artworks, despite that being my initial attractant to it.  The background wallpaper is a bit blurry and I wish it wasn't.  The alternation between red and blue text is effective for differentiating successive posts, who wrote what.

The one flaw: in the transparent right side bar that shows last posting date, the blue lettering is illegible on many portions of the background.  I have worked around it by scrolling the window up or down if I really need to know the most recent posting date, so that the blue text falls on a background color with better contrast.  I'm doing this a lot while sussing out the gap between activity in 2023 and 2025.  Maybe I'll have less need or interest in that in the future.

Hmm.  That's a design problem I'm not sure how to tackle; the background pic is essential to the look of the thing, a memory-hog even at such low resolution, and always gonna be a contrast problem where text displays against it.

The blue text, IMO, is a teeny bit darker than optimal against the black post background, but would be even worse, I think, against the whole forum pic background if lightened.  Maybe I really ought to think through that post background -it looks SO right with the other elements, but I set out to make a LIGHT theme to contrast SMAX and Firaxis- maybe just go generic white w/ almost-black blue and green text alternating, leave the black scanlines for the postbits and the indexes...  Very dark text would work best against the Planet screeny background where that happens.
